CT Fail Safe® bullets are unique dual chamber designs that provide deep penetration on virtually any big game animal. The front of the bullet is a metallurgical breakthrough--the uniquely designed hollowpoint expands perfectly and retains the bulk of its mass while resisting fragmentation. The rear core, on the other hand, is hardened lead enclosed in a combination of copper alloy jacket and Winchester's patented steel cup. The added strength of steel prevents bullet deformation and promotes exceptional penetration in heavy muscle or bone.

Fail Safe Cutaway 1. Specially constructed nose–deep hollowpoint in homogenous, specially treated copper alloy nose causes dramatic expansion with high weight retention, resulting in a large diameter wound channel.

2. Integral separation between front and rear chambers–hard separating wall halts expansion and shields rear core from deformation at high impact velocities.

3. Winchester's patented steel cup–tough steel cup further protects rear core from deformation, allows bullet to penetrate deeply and pevents post-impact bullet deflection.

4. Hardened lead rear core–lead alloy rear core is extremely concentric and form fitted to jacket for maximum accuracy and weight retention.

5. Positive heel closure–heel closure disc prevents core slippage or separation on impact, maximizing retained mass and providing deep penetration.

6. Molybdenum Disulfide exterior bullet coating–reduces fouling, pressure and friction between bullet and bore.
